HealthSource launches drive to build homes for Orphans

HealthSource joins with Ten Thousand Homes to help build homes for orphans of AIDS victims; sets goal to complete construction of one free-standing home

Houston / Clear Lake and Alvin, TX, January 14, 2009 - - HealthSource of Clear Lake and HealthSource of Alvin are proud to announce that they have launched the “brick” campaign to raise money for the one thousand+ bricks needed to build a free-standing home for orphans of AIDS victims in southern Africa.

HealthSource hopes to achieve its goal in conjunction with the organization Ten Thousand Homes, which has a long-standing reputation for delivering the goods when it comes to helping orphans on the African subcontinent.

Both doctors expressed their support and enthusiasm in support of the Homes of Orphans "brick" campaign, with the hope and desire that all of their patients will join them in support of this very worthy cause.

Dr. Alice Sexton, Director of Sports Injury Care at the clinic commented. “I can think of no greater need than that of a home for a child – especially those orphaned by parents dying from AIDS. It is my belief that our actions, no matter how small, make a significant difference to those we intend to help. After all, every child should have a place to call HOME.”

Dr. Dell Blackwell, Director of Chiropractic Care at the Alvin clinic added: “We have been so blessed in America and yet we tend to get so focused on our own ‘problems’ that we overlook the fact that others may not even be able to meet the greatest needs of all – food and shelter. Every brick that we can supply for this endeavor will make a difference to one or more children that suffer not only from a loss of family, but are also homeless.”
